The founding conference for the Vacuum Insulated Glass Professional Committee of China Architectural and Industrial Glass Association was held in Qingdao on June 27, 2014. It was acknowledged at the meeting that this was the first vacuum insulated glass professional committee. While vacuum insulated glass is an emerging industry worldwide, the number and size of both domestic and foreign manufacturing enterprises remain limited. As one of the few cutting-edge products with independent intellectual property rights in our glass industry, vacuum insulated glass is a new type of glass product. Vacuum Insulated Glass is able to make the heat transfer coefficient of glass windows and doors equal or close to the thermal conductivity of the building envelope of various kinds. This will greatly reduce the energy consumption needs of a building. The R&D and promotion of this product conform to the China’s innovation policy and the policies that call for energy saving.
