3. Environmental conservation: to carefully design the environmental load of the building throughout its entire life-cycle and make full use of local resources and natural resources. 

Theoretically, active house and passive house are not at odds with one another. Each bears its own concept: passive strategy is to minimize a building’s heat loss while active house prioritizes “comfort, health, and safety” as the key indicators in the design. It adds more measures to achieve ultra-low energy consumption (secondary energy consumption) with environmental conservation factors taken into consideration.
